Yin Yoga & Sound   

Yin yoga encompasses a range of postures that all share the goal of encouraging gentle stressing of the myofascial tissues surrounding the muscular system and stimulating the meridians, or energy channels, in the body. Developed with Chinese Medicine in mind, the practice uses some familiar yogic postures in a passive way, as well as an abundance of props to support the body, to achieve greater flexibility, bodily awareness, relief from pain and stiffness, and relaxation.   

During this class, we’ll accompany the restorative postures with background music of soothing sounds like crystal bowls, ocean drums and gongs to enhance presence and deepen relaxation during your yoga practice. This is a unique way to work with sound medicine in addition to the benefits yin yoga offers.   

$30 suggested donation. 

Plenty of props will be provided. Bring a yoga mat, come in your most comfy clothes and prepare to rest and reset. Text 580.504.4065 to register.   

About the facilitators:   Emily Rose Williams began her journey into yoga in 2014 by diving deep into the practice of intensive vinyasa, eventually earning her 200 hour teaching certification in 2016 with Andrew Eppler of Ashtanga Norman. After years of this strenuous practice, she began seeking out more gentle forms of movement, and landed at This Land Yoga, where she received continued education credits in lighter forms of vinyasa, integrative, yin, prenatal, and restorative, as well as trauma informed teaching practices.  

Kelsey Elledge of Soulfully_Sound is a Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master, sound healing facilitator and certified kundalini yoga instructor. She’s been facilitating sound baths for the general public since 2022 and is incredibly passionate about sharing curated sound experiences as a way to go inward. Sound has been instrumental in her own inner journey of unraveling and reigniting the sacred light within.
